"Cinque Cento" 500

This was my favorite of the cars shown at the races. It was one of the fastest there. It is an imported Italian roadster that I remember loving while in Italy. I would love to own one someday! Jakie loved it because he probably could have driven it.

Shumways invade the Pitt Zoo

Our family was invited, (via Rick as a part of the Fellowship program at UPMC) to a behind the scenes tour of the Pittsburgh Zoo. Here, they let us go in as a family to let us be eaten by a Kimoto Dragon!! Just kidding. They said that we might loose a foot if he was hungry, or Jakie in a worst case scenario. Ha, just kidding. The Dragon did get a little ticked when Rick accidentally stepped on his toe though. I saw him turn his head and hiss, and I was outta there. Rick was right behind me, but it was still scary. I never want to be that close to something that could eat me again!

"The Jellies"

We saw the sea life next and after seeing "Dory fish", "Nemo fish", etc. we went to go see "the Jellies". They really were cool and they glowed just like in the picture.

The Best Exhibit Ever!

If you ever come to visit us, you have to go with us to the Zoo to see this amazing exhibit. You get to watch the polar bears in their diving environment and it is so beautiful. Jakie freaked when he saw the bear 10 inches in front of his face and wanted to take them home. I tried to explain that he would be their lunch, but he was dead set on having one on a leash by dinner time. Mommy won that one.

The View

The polar bear display tank was amazing! It was a glass igloo like structure that the polar bears swam and down by you. I loved it in there!

The Polar Bear Exhibit

The Pittsburgh Zoo is amazing, but my favorite thing we got to see was the Polar Bear exhibit. Jakie loved it as seen above, but they were so graceful and serene. I want to go back and just sit in the tank area and observe again for hours.

"Hedge Hog Heaven"

This little hedge hog was a cutie. Jakie loved it and still remembers the names of all of the animals that he met that day.
